Kinetic Conveyance
Stamp Issued
The latest Colorado Local Post stamp to be issued is the Kinetic Conveyance Mail adhesive. It was released September 15, 1984 at Boulder, Colorado in conjunction with the annual Kinetic Conveyance Race, which is best described as "a unique and crazy human-powered challenge over land and water." It is one of the largest and most popular events in Boulder County. Boulder's largest outdoor party/parade/picnic/community event draws upwards of 35,000 people to Boulder reservoir. It takes upwards of six months for the group of hardworking volunteers to organize the race each year. The goal of the Kinetic Committee is to get together, have a good time, and spread Kinetic fever throughout Boulder County and the world! The purpose of it all -- to have fun! Note: Contestants build
human-powered craft to navigate over a course of land and water.
The craft are invariable odd-looking, which seems to be part of the
appeal of the event.
